HOW MEDIATION WORKS

Mediation is a process in which a skilled independent mediator facilitates the resolution of a dispute between two or more parties. In a confidential, safe environment, the mediator will help the parties find common ground and the route to a settlement that all the parties can live with. Mediation is an entirely voluntary process with a high rate of success.

WHEN TO USE MEDIATION

Mediation can be used resolve any kind of dispute including:-

Royalty splits

Copyright ownership

Contractual disputes

Reversion of rights

Writer/publisher disputes

Publisher/publisher disputes

Publisher/sub-publisher disputes

Artist/Record company disputes

Artist/Manager disputes

MEDIATION IS QUICK, COST EFFECTIVE AND SAFE

Most mediations are scheduled to last one day. Compared to legal fees the costs of mediation are low.  Mediation strives to find an acceptable solution for all parties and has a very high success rate because the parties have control of the outcome compared with the uncertainty of a decision imposed by a judge or arbitrator.

Mediation is safe, private, confidential and without prejudice - nothing is revealed to another party without specific permission.

My approach is sensitive and facilitative, focused on helping to clarify the parties’ needs in order to arrive at a mutually agreed solution; there is no outright winner or loser.
